Hello lovelies, how has your week been so far? By the by, when I ask how you’re doing / how your week has been , I’m being genuine. I’m really interested to know, so please drop a comment below. I’m feeling much better, and Kwando is back at crèche so things are slowly coming together again.
Can I tell you how much of mission it is trying to get a group of friends to come together on one particular day. We lead such busy lives it’s actually not even funny. This year with YWC ( Young wives club), we decided to have more socials outside of the monthly meetings. Last week Friday we were meant to meet together with our spouses for a chilled games/ pizza social. Did it happen…. DOLOLO! Ok ok, but in context (since I know some of them will read this) I was meant to host it, and that same evening I was unavailable because Kwando was in hospital. That aside though, the numbers went from 10 couples to like 4 (including me) by the time we hit Thursday, ha ha. It actually made me laugh so hard, but also made me ask what do we make time for and why are we so busy?!
Like when I say I don’t have time to meet with a friend/ read the Bible, etc, What am I actually saying? What exactly is taking up my time? My line of work requires me to be on social media for hours on end. If I’m not on social media reading up on a brand/ person for business reasons and sometimes straight up stalking, then I’m googling a lot, a whole lot. I’m new to the blogging world so I spend quite a bit of my time researching, basically gaining as muck knowledge as possible about the ins and outs of the industry.
Sometimes it’s not so much that I don’t have time, it’s just poor planning on my part. I realized that I don’t structure my hours well enough. I have a weekly planner and a diary, but I haven’t gotten to the point where I dedicate time (minutes and hours) to my tasks/ to-do list. I just jot it all done and tick off once I’m done with the task. So my new thing is to be able to account for my time. Working from home is not as easy as it seems, it requires loads and loads of discipline. I’m naturally quite a rigid person, by rigid I mean patterned, and in this regard it may seem like a pro, but there are quite a few cons. The biggest con is that once I pick up a bad habit or become complacent, it takes me a while to shake it off and get back on track. If you guys have any tips on how to keep you stay disciplined, even if you apply it to your studies/ career/ time with your spouse please feel free to share with me, it would really be beneficial.
Don’t flip out, it’s just a bralette! And my husband okayed this outfit guys, ha ha. Yes , he really did! I try on ALL my outfits for him before I shoot, more especially if something is revealing, short, etc. He’s a really chilled guy though, hardly ever disagrees with a look. He genuinely loves the way i style my outfits and I guess maybe because I am considerate of him, it seems to be enough for him. I do this out of respect, I don’t ever want to find myself in a situation where he see’s a post of me that he didn’t feel comfortable with. I’m a wife before I’m a blogger and extremely mindful of that. Our marriage is extremely important to me, so if my husband is good then I’m good. Also I grew up with a father that encouraged my style, he was okay with short skirts, crop tops, etc. He believed that no women should ever be controlled by male opinion, so because of that I feel really comfortable in slightly revealing clothes and shortened lengths.
Undergarments becoming outer wear has become quite a massive a trend. The lace factor is what sells the look for me, I love that racy type romantic feel it gives. A lot of these type of bralettes come in different styles, some are strapless , others slightly longer in length around the abdomen and of course various type fabrics. If you’re keen to try out this look, but feel revealing so much of your stomach area is a stretch too far for, then rather pair it with high-waisted jeans/ high-waisted skirt/ high-waisted wide leg pants. And if the cleavage area is a major factor for you then add a draping scarf/ sleeveless coat/ jacket. Don’t be to shy to try something a little out of your comfort zone.
