Once again I’ve had such a busy week. My sister-in-love was around last week, she drove down with us from Durban. She was here to support her daughter play in a provincial netball tournament. We basically spent the whole of last week driving to and fro the indoor Midrand arena. Zee ( her daughter), played very well and was chosen to trial for the South African side, but unfortunately she injured her ankle during a match and that affected her performance. I must admit though, watching her play, rekindled my love for the sport. I’m now thinking of joining a club and playing socially to help me to keep fit, because gym doesn’t work for me. Also, having my sister-in-love around was the best thing since, I actually don’t even know…. She was ever so helpful with Kwando. Bath time duties handled, number two nappies handled, dishes handled and I didn’t even have to ask or hint towards it. My husband and I were quite spoilt and ever so grateful!
Speaking of husband, he’s been sooooo sweet today, I’ve been treated like a queen from the moment I opened my eyes. It’s almost like he heard what we spoke about at the wives club this Saturday, ha ha… I honestly don’t want the leave days to come to an end! I have zero plans for today, besides to chill with my boys and to finally get onto my first Marriage Monday post. I’ve beeeeeen procrastinating the editing of the messages. Oh yes, and Kwando is due for an immunization , so that will mean I have to leave the house.
I don’t want to sound all preachy or anything, but to the ladies that read my blog posts, when was the last time you visited your gynae? I went for a check up last week, and my visit prior to that was 6 weeks post conceiving Kwando. I know right, how terrible of me! I soon discovered that I had not had the measles immunization and my gynae was quite appalled by that discovery. So at the late age of 26 I had to have a vaccination done for measles, the reason why she was quite alarmed by it, was because of the dangers that could occur, more especially if I were to fall pregnant. Having measles during pregnancy can cause a miscarriage, and the child could develop mild to severe abnormalities, because I as the mother would not have the anti-bodies to fight off the disease. I don’t mean to freak you out, but just check if you’ve had the vaccination done, because it should have been done around the age of 12. Oh and also, you should actually be going to see your gynae once/ twice a year.
Lately I’m quite into the 70’s trend, and I’m so glad it’s made a comeback. I don’t think this trend is going anywhere anytime soon, because of the many bohemian type festivals that are on the rise, such as Coachella and the likes. I for one am not complaining, because I’ve completely fallen in love with the flared denim look, and currently on a serious mission to own different variations of it. It’s such an easy look for me, because I feel that the flare makes an enough statement, so I don’t have to complicate the top half of my look. And like I said in my previous post, I’m all about fuss free items that are easy to style and make you look effortlessly good. But, to look like you’re straight out of the 70’s try pair the flared denim with a bell sleeved blouse/ sleeveless suede tassel coat with a nice pair of boots and finish the look with a floppy hat.
