So I’m back to taking care of my Kwando on a full-time basis. Because…. Nanny drama! Long story short, she fell pregnant and told me last month, only to discover she is seven months along. And no I couldn’t tell, she hid it quite well. I did think something was up though, cause she started slacking at her work and then she did the ULTIMATE, fell asleep on the job, not once, not twice, but thrice. So enough was enough! I don’t blame her though, the third trimester can be something else on the body. Ok, enough about my nanny drama.
Today I cleaned the house like my mother-in-love was coming to visit, ha ha. I’m slightly OCD, so this is quite normal for me to be honest. Ashamedly so! For some reason I find it extremely therapeutic. Having no nanny has also given me time to bond with my son again. I took a bath with him this morning, which I haven’t done in ages. Whilst I was brushing my teeth he was playing in the bath, and in the space of like two minutes he had managed to pee in the water, drink the water he just pee’d in, choke on the water, then hit his chest trying to un-choke himself, fake choke, and finally splash half the water out of the bath. I was literally in stitches, laughing my head off, mainly because of the determination on his adorable face and partly because I felt so defeated, my 5 minute prior spick and span bathroom was no longer so. I also realized how quickly he has grown up and how time flies, soon I’m going to have a chatter box that I can’t bath with, because he’ll point and touch my private parts and tell everyone he encounters. So I’m learning how not to be so rushed with him, to take in the little things and appreciate the time we have. So today was a good day. My husband is no longer on leave, which really sucks, because I miss him so much already. Yes, I’m that weird! On the plus side though, I’ve had more time to for blog related things.
Can we just discuss this cold front for a second?! Wow wee! I’m not a tea drinker, but I’ve had about 2 cups of Rooibos a day since it began. I’m really hoping this weekend will be a little warmer, and more than anything, that Joburg is not deciding to skip Autumn and go straight into Winter. Worst excuse, but it’s the reason I didn’t attend fashion week. I must say though, thank God for social media! I’ve been kept up to date with all the shows. If you haven’t seen any of the designers shows, follow SA fashion week on Instagram, and maybe try find a few followers under the same hash tag.
I can’t stay too long today, my sister and niece are visiting and I promised to cook my husband’s favourite, beef stew with dumplings. Best wife award! Just one comment on the clothing: Print is power! It makes such a statement. You can never go wrong with a bell sleeved dress with a floral print and perfect black boot.
