Hey guys, how have you been? I’m still phone less…. Ahhhh ( screams out of frustration), I’m annoyed with myself for dropping my phone. I know it seems slightly dramatic, but firstly I’m Xhosa and drama is in my blood. Then secondly, being a blogger calls for a whole lot of social media presence, which I’m currently failing dismally at. My aim is to be consistent and I feel like I was finally starting to find my feet, next thing dololo. Okay……… phone less rant over! Hopefully I’ll have a new one tomorrow, latest Monday according to insurance .
Slightly obsessed with this shoot, cause I did it with my girl. We had so much fun with this one, a ton of laughter and really nothing like a sweat shop. A whole lot of pretend stretch which really proved to me how unfit I am. This shoot happened a little while ago and I’m so pleased to say that unfitness is now a thing of the past. I can confidently say ” Bring on the squats baby”. Oh by the way, this hottie of a friend is currently running half marathons and part of the Rosebank Nike running club, I mean over achiever much?! She’s currently my fitness level goals!
Can’t stay long tonight, looking after my husband. He’s not feeling too good. Seeing a loved one unwell is honestly the pits, also side plate; nothing is cuter than how helpless men become when they aren’t feeling well, ha ha. Plans for the weekend are to squeeze in a shoot, spend time with a friend and hopefully rest, it’s been a long week for me. Kwando didn’t go to crèche for about a good week. Listen, taking care of a toddler vs a helpless baby is a whole different ball game. Don’t get me wrong ,both are EXTREMELY hard work, but I must say the toddler stage is unnecessary repetition and reenforcing to the nth degree. I have the utmost respect for teachers, because this is ………TIRING! Kwando has major personality now, tests boundaries like you won’t believe and I honestly feel like he can’t be tamed, he runs wild EVERYWHERE. Like nothing is impossible for him, the minute you think ‘No he wouldn’t, no he can’t’ , he shows you, oh yes I can mommy! Basically if you come over to my place now you’ll either be caught between having a heart attack or find yourself at a house party ( light switch can be reached). Oh the sweet joys of parenthood!
I think my body is crying out for me time. I need to unplug, relax and just do nothing for a good few days. A month would be great, but I’ll take what reality can offer me. Prime example: It’s now 8:56pm and Kwando should be asleep, but instead he’s turned the couch into a jumping castle. Anyone else know the struggle?
Before I dash, let me chat about the athleisure trend. It sorta explains itself, but if you aren’t familiar with the trend it’s basically gym wear/ sports wear made to look trendy. The aim is basically for you not to change from the comfy gym clothes, but instead throw on a biker jacket, maybe swap out your running shoes for fur sliders and you’re basically good to go. I’m not a gym person, I work out at home so I never felt the need to own cute workout clothes. BUT with this trend I’m sold, cause it makes it easier for the mom life to just look so effortless. If you aren’t comfortable with a crop top, pair it with a top that’s long at the back and short in the front and tie a denim jacket around the waist. Sunglasses are the ultimate accessory for this kind of look, try not to leave them out. Remember the aim is not to sweat, but to look the part!
Have a lovely weekend!
xx
