It's Me Style

NAVY AND WHITE

So I had a rather eventful morning, whilst I was sorting out Kwando’s laundry, he was in the bath playing with his toys, well so I thought. When I got done, which I swear didn’t take longer than five minutes, I was greeted with the “sweetest” surprise, a big fat log of doodos, yes poo, floating in the water. I nearly fainted! Guys I’ve never been so traumatized in my life, how was I expected to clean such .I’m sure most of you are laughing at me, but it’s just that it was the last thing I expected.

Can we rewind back to Friday and start the weekend all over again. Man I had a really good weekend. T and I were celebrating seven years together on Friday, can I get a whoop! I know it’s weird that we still celebrate our dating anniversary, but I think it’s important to cherish the date that made us. We spent Friday evening at church, Pastor Creflo Dollar together with his wife and daughter, (whom by the way brings heaven down with a single note), were hosting their annual Change Experience Conference. I’m a huge fan of his preaching, so it was obvious I’d attend. And of course, true to form he didn’t disappoint- relevant, revelation packed, simplistic teaching and practical examples. Just when I thought I had grace all figured out, bam, grace preached like I’ve never heard it before in my life. Such a word in season for me and so timely, reminding me to go back to the basics: The finished work of Christ. Also, I had never seen our church that full, I ended  parking someone in, because there was no parking space. T and I didn’t even sit together, he wasn’t allowed into the main auditorium, and ended up sitting in the chapel. The auditorium was filled beyond capacity, my sister and I had no place to sit, until we moved to the mother’s room aka playroom for Kwando. My child has energy for days, and he has such a huge personality, he literally played with every child there, didn’t stop running or jumping on the chairs, and refused to eat. Towards the end of the service you could see every mother losing her patience, I’ve never heard the word no sgaid so many times in such a short space of time. Nevertheless, it was such an incredible time in God’s presence.

Saturday afternoon I hung out with a dear friend, a long overdue catch up that was just the best, I laughed every minute I was with her . We had drinks and dessert at Topo Gigio. I hadn’t chilled in Greenside in such a long time, so that was quite a treat. We missed the half price jugs special by 30 minutes, we tried twisting the waiters arm, but he wouldn’t budge, nevermind the fact that I wasn’t going to drink any alcohol. We witnessed so many strange events in the few hours we were there,my favourite had to have been the waiter running after a customer that had walked off with the restaurant jug. I mean?! Later that evening liefie and I got dressed up for a date night out. We decided to try out a new restaurant called Al’la Turka. We basically gate crashed the place, because the restaurant operates by reservations only over the weekend (I didn’t know). Luckily for us they had just enough space for two. As we walked up to the entrance gates we were met halfway by a sweet gentleman, and greeted with such a warm welcome. He escorted us into the courtyard area, and upon arrival we were offered welcome drinks, a shot of a traditional turkish drink. It was so divine! I took a moment to admire the surroundings, the architectural build of the castle was spectacular The court-yard pathway was marked by brightly lit candles and draping lights. The rooms leading to the stairway were decorated with unique antique findings and the walls adorned with fine art. At the top of the staircase we were greeted by the owner and she lead us to the waiting room, where I wanted to basically have a mini photo shoot on the spot with the hubs, but our waiter arrived sooner than expected. Not even ten minutes after we had ordered drinks, I saw all the waiters lighting up each table’s candles. Then suddenly the lights went off, and an exotic melody began playing in the background. A move of fire lit up the room , with about a handful of belly dancers adorned in sequins embellished garments. They gracefully circled the floor, twirling the fire rhythm sticks, divided evenly in the room entertaining the guests with an enchanting dance. A change to the beat brought on the next act,the skillful balancing of a sword on their heads and hips, whilst moving to the rhythm of the beat. Everybody in the room had their phones out trying to capture the spectacular moment. Then the fun began, all the guests got up and each one joined the line to form somewhat of a train, whilst holding onto the shoulders of the person in front of them, we went all around the restaurant dancing ,singing and laughing. On the other side of the wall I couldn’t help but admire the beautiful tents draped with exquisite cloth. It literally looked like a scene from a movie. Candles formed the centre piece, with the light reflecting the rich colours of the cloth creating a romantic ambience . Numerous scattered cushions in deep hues were laid on the floor and used as seating, making room for intimate moments. The whole experience was mind-blowing, I felt transported to a magical and exotic place. The food didn’t disappoint either ,it was really delicious. Took me right back to our honeymoon travels in Greece. The food was full of flavour , smell of exotic aromas and perfect balance of spices. The portions were quite large, so be prepared to take home a takeaway box. Honestly such a great experience and a must try.

Lately I’ve been so broody, I wish I could snap my fingers and I’d have a one month old baby GIRL in my arms. I’m soooo ready, but not yet, calm down ovaries! I made Kwands even wear a t-shirt yesterday written best big brother ever. Imagine!

I put together a very easy and chilled look, sometimes it’s good to keep it simple.Happy Monday beautiful’s and have a great week!
