Hello my lovely people! It’s been ages since my last blog, but trust me when I say that the wait will definitely be worth your while. I’ve made a few changes to the blog, by adding a more creative flare ( videos). I personally think it’s really dope, it allows you to see the behind the scenes of the shoots and I guess as the viewer , the more visual content I can offer you the better. I’ve also decided to do more collaborations. This is the first of many collabs. I’m amazed at how easy it makes blogging, how free I am in front of the camera, and how awesome it is to feed off another person’s energy. I really enjoyed having another person to do this shoot with.
This pretty lady in the pics with me is my close friend Bongiwe, she’s really dear to my heart. We met when I was in varsity and we’ve been inseparable ever since. She was also one of my bridesmaids at my wedding. I just love her and most of all her heart!
This actually has to be a quick post, it’s my nunu pie’s birthday today! I can’t believe that my son is two years old. It feels like it was just the other day when I heard them say ” He’s here”, then they called the time out “12:05pm” ha ha. That’s about all I remember from that moment! Next thing I had a perfect little miracle in my arms. Although I was overly anxious about being operated on, I soon forgot how things didn’t go as “planned” , with regards to a natural birth. I was so overwhelmed by God’s goodness and in awe of the fact that God holds us mere humans ( my husband and I) with such high regard. He entrusted me to carry and incubate perfection and believed that I would have the ability and strength to bring him into this world. Man, that’s huge!
Motherhood leaves me speechless….. At times I feel like the most clueless ad helpless person, then God’s grace does what it only knows. It anchors me and reminds me that I’m not alone. It directs me, it teaches me and most importantly it loves on me. I can’t believe that my baby boy believes that I’m the most awesome person ( next to his dad of course), he may not be able to say it, but his actions and facial expressions are enough for me to know that I rock his world. He is truly my most precious gift, my love knows no bounds when it comes to him. He really is our added joy, that I truly find it hard to believe that I have more love to give to the next one, and no I’m not announcing anything, ha ha!
I have to dash before the birthday boy wakes up, so let me get on with the looks. We decided on a classic denim and white look for this shoot. To be honest, there really wasn’t much thought put behind the choice of clothing. I just knew that it’s items that are both readily available. You can never go wrong with this combination. It’s really quite an effortless look, that can easily be styled up or down, depending on preference, event, etc. Bongiwe is sporting a more relaxed , chilled vibe whereas as mine more of a transitional casual Friday work look, and a little more chic. By the way, since I’m the kinda sister that helps another sister, I got these denims at the Edgars sale for R80 bucks?! I truly believe I’m the queen of sales, ha ha! I’ve been wanting frayed denims since forever and to get that at such a steal was such a sweet moment. Can I just take a moment to mention how hot my friend is!
These images were shot by a new family member Lee. He’s now my videographer for the blog, although he had to do both this Saturday, because Mikayla wasn’t available to shoot. I’m already a little obsessed with Lee, ha ha! Uber professional and really easy guy. Shout out to you Lee for being so awesome!
