It's Me Style

THE RED NUMBER

Hey guys! How’s your week been thus far? I had a busy day yesterday, managed to squeeze in a shoot around lunchtime, so thankful that Mikayla was able to slot me in. Got home quite late last night to deal with a crying toddler. Kwando is going through a phase where he doesn’t want to eat, it’s been a few days now. I’m not sure if he’s teething or what! So I’m trying my best to keep calm and give him as much love and attention as possible. Nevertheless, I slept with a full heart, cause I got to spend time with a friend of mine and our babies, we hadn’t done that in a while. I was meant to drive and fetch more products from my supplier, but I realized that I left my glasses at home. My eye-sight in the evenings is terrible, literally drove home squinting the whole way and truthfully by the grace of God. So hubby did best and drove and got them for me.

Today my plans are to get my I.D. done and a few business related things. Can you believe I’ll be married three years in September and I’m still walking around with my maiden name?! I’m literally just married on social media, which really doesn’t count for much. But in all fairness, I did attempt to get it done last year sometime, stood in the longest queue at Home Affairs, only for them to tell me “We don’t recognize you sister.” Apparently I wasn’t registered or something to that effect, so they said I should go back to my pastor at church and follow-up with them. I did that and they shifted the blame onto Home Affairs, because they had processed all my information. I’m not sure who is fooling who here, but hey!  To be honest, the only reason why I’m braving it today is because, I discovered that FNB now has a designated area for I.D. processing. So after the quickest and most efficient experience of getting my I.D. processed ( this all faith talk by the way), then I have to go get quotes for marketing tools. My sister and I will be taking the products to pop-up stores in the next couple of weeks, so we need effective marketing tools in place  and I need to find a reliable, efficient and affordable courier company. So, if you know of any please holla at your girl!

I’ve been feeling so overwhelmed of late, I even had an emotional breakdown about two days ago. I’ve been feeling chronically exhausted, the simplest things (laundry, cooking, washing dishes) became so overwhelming for me to do. Maybe I have too much on plate, but I think more than anything I’m in desperate need of a nanny/ Kwando needs to go crèche ASAP! I had a chat with hubby the very same day and we agreed that Kwando will be going to crèche 1st of August now. Like can I get a HALLELUJAH! I love my baby, but wowee he is a lot of work, sometimes I feel like I get nothing done. Taking care of a toddler ( bath/ feed/ playtime / tantrums/ put to sleep), then I need to clean, cook and manage the blogger/ entrepreneur side of my life and be a fully present wife has been so overwhelming. Also keep in mind, that all the running around I do is inclusive of Kwando. Sometimes I prolong my tasks, push them back till the weekend when daddy is able to assist me. Speaking of daddy, the website is basically done. Can’t wait to share! My husband is really incredible, because he is so swamped at work and with his personal business, but still finds time to assist me. Baby you are the best! The business has been doing so well already, just from word-of-mouth marketing . God is so good!

Hunnies, can we just discuss this red number for a minute. Dear Mr Price, this is why I will never let you go! I got this fur jacket at nicks to nothing, it was marked down and calling my name. I chose a different approach to styling this look. Wide leg denim, loose fit dress ( which is a skirt by the way) and strappy heels. Normally these proportions and lengths wouldn’t really work well together, which is why I love this look so much. My inspo was NY fashion week street style kinda vibe, just missing a pair of sunnies and a quirky bag and I would have been bang on. Over-sized, loose fit, flared and over the top, that’s what I was kinda going for. I’m sure we’ve all been smothered with images of the fur trend, whether on FB  or mostly commonly on Instagram. Social media has been a buzz with this trend this season and I can’t really blame them, because it really is an easy trend to style.  At first I was like, miss me with this trend, but the fiery red , and not forgetting the ridiculous price were just way too persuasive, ha ha. It’s important to style a massive trend in a unique manner, so that you don’t end up looking the masses, so leave the thigh boots behind, the choker, the slip dress, the skinny jeans and try a more  unconventional way of styling the fur coat. For example, throw on a maxi dress and some sneakers, or pair it with denim culottes and the classic white shirt with flat forms.
