THE STATEMENT JACKET

IMG_4007_BusiShootMayHello, Hello my lovelies! What a hectic day I’ve had. I did a lot of driving around today for the new business venture I’m about to embark on. I seriously can’t wait to announce what I’ve been up to. I’ll be adding a shop tab on the blog VERY, VERY soon, eeekkkk! I’ve decided to collab with my sister on this, which is really awesome. Those of you who know me personally, know that my sister and I are basically joined at the hip, so I’m really amped that we’ll be working together.

To rewind back to the weekend, I had an awesome meeting with my photographer Mikayla, on Saturday afternoon. We had to iron out a few ideas that I have for the blog in the next coming months. I’m really excited about the direction the blog is about to take, I’m adding more of a creative flare to it and I think I’ve come to understand what my niche is, so my aim is to hone in on that. We had our meeting at News Cafe in Rosebank, guys if you haven’t been there, you really need to go. The interior is everything! It has such a great ambience and atmosphere. The service was crappy as hell, but what’s new! I really haven’t spoken much about Mikayla, and she really deserves a shout out! I feel so blessed to work with her, I really do. Funny enough, we actually went to the same high school, but we were never in the same circle of friends. It’s amazing how life works, but more than anything God’s timing. I honestly don’t rave about her work enough on the blog. She really gets me, I think it’s mainly because we are in similar stages in our lives; being a wife, being a mom, pursuing a relationship with Christ, pursuing our God-given calling and purpose. It really helps, because I can relate to her on a more personal level. Also, I love her work, she’s good at what she does and she’s really professional. So if you keen to shoot with her, please drop her a mail, she’s really lovely. Her email address is: mikaylatom@gmail.com

Best part of my Saturday though was the chill session I had with a close friend over dinner and drinks at Doppio. I didn’t realize how much I missed her till I saw her, just a good catch up and laughter.

Guys, how grown does my Kwando look in this outfit? It makes me so emo, like where did my baby go! This statement jacket is everything! I couldn’t resist.  It’s really perfect for the Winter cold and I’m slightly obsessed with the look. It’s really on trend and I dig the patch work emblem on the side of the jacket, oh and that faux fur collar finishes me. Of course I had to pair it with my favourite Winter item, a turtle neck! Kwando literally has a turtle neck in every colour, ha ha. I honestly can’t help myself. I know the jacket is slightly big, but I’m all about the life of a kid growing into clothes.

xx
