Hello lovelies! Joburg weather has been showing off, so I thought I’d get some style images of my baby boy. Well not much of a baby anymore, he’s grown up so much and has so much personality. He’s learning and saying so many words now and able to understand us better with regards to instructions. The tantrums are still there, but now the hitting when reprimanded has taken over. Which to me is worse than the tantrums.
Before, I get ahead of myself. Firstly, Happy belated Women’s day and Happy Women’s month to all my beautiful female readers. Don’t ever doubt your awesomeness! My Women’s day was quite chilled, hubby and I rushed out that morning to meet with Mikayla for Kwando’s shoot. We then spent an extra hour or so at the park to let Kwando and my niece ( Ono) play and run around. If you live in Joburg, and are a park fanatic like me, please check out Lonehill Park this Summer. Please note, that it’s EXTREMELY dog friendly, but the best thing is that the dogs are fenced out from the playground area for the kids. The park is safe, and also has a beautiful water feature in the middle of the dam and with a restaurant overlooking it on the far side. For those who have me as a friend on Facebook or follow me on Instagram, you’ll see that I recently posted on a new spot to buy fresh veggies and fruit. One of my Facebook friends posted a pic of Mam’ Refilwe’s greenhouse farm area in Yeoville. Guys, I was in total awe the whole time I was there. She took me on a tour of the farm area and she even allowed me to physically pick my own spinach, kale, rocket and rosemary. I bought so much from her, and even bought a freshly made smoothie, which even hubby agreed was amazing. She is honestly the warmest lady, and I’m really hoping that social media will do what it does best and she’ll get a flock of people running to her. I asked how her long she’d been operating and she said ten years. Like, imagine! Checkers, Woolies, Pick n Pay and the likes can miss me hay, Mam’ Refilwe you have won me over for good.
A mini update on my recovery, I had my stitches removed this week Monday. I feel really good, I’ve had zero pain and the gynae was very happy with the results. Like I’m really sold on having a male gynae now,my sister has been telling me for years how amazing they are.
So, about the outfit my son is wearing. SALE time is honestly my favourite time of the year. I’m a believer in buying really affordable clothing for babies and toddlers, because they grow so fast and at times even outgrew outfits after one time of wearing them. The detail in these paints is so cute, it reminds me of spotted paint, which brought in the kid feel. The colour and fabric give off a very grown up feel, which is why I decided to style down the look and add a basic white v-neck tee. Remember, the statement leather jacket from his last shoot?! I thought I’d add it in, to match the back leather insert of the sneakers. It’s warm during the day, but still quite chilly in the mornings and evenings, so a jacket is still necessary.
I have to jet off now and do some Marads business work. I’m still trying to strike a balance. For those of you who haven’t checked out the new business venture, please like the page on Facebook ( Marads ) or follow on Instagram (@maradsperfume). And , let me know what you think!
xx
