Finally a recipe has been uploaded! You have no idea how huge of an accomplishment this is for me, when I started this blog, I wanted to be extremely consistent with my posts, and I already feel like I’ve let my self down. This is me pulling up my socks and putting an end to all the excuses.
I love to bake, but with a toddler around I’ve found I don’t quite have the time to play around in the kitchen as much. Baking at first can seem so daunting, because a lot of work goes into the process, but the result can be a flop (sometimes). Even with that being said, I still enjoy it. I enjoy how precise one has to be, it makes me feel better about being a perfectionist all the time. The best though is the end result, the tasting. And that is my hubby’s favourite! I’ve made this recipe before, well once before. My first attempt was for my son’s first birthday last year October and it turned out really great. One of my strengths is being able to follow a recipe down to the tee. I’ll google conversions from grams to millimeters if I have to. I go that far! This recipe is quite easy, basically throwing the ingredients together, bake, ice the top of the cake, decorate and VOILA! I left out the raisins in my mixture, because my husbands dislikes them, and I used canola oil instead of vegetable oil. Feel free to add nuts of your choice and edit according to your preferences.
My 8-year-old niece was my assistant in the kitchen today . She was very eager to help and this made me realize that this is the type of recipe that the kids can get involved in. By the way, you will feel like a pro after making this. This is a flop-proof recipe, I promise! (eeeeekkk)
