I know, I know…. Why have I been so quiet lately?! Life is rather hectic on my side, trying to re-adjust to being “nanny” again. I had forgotten how hectic it is to take care of Kwando on a full-time basis. And yes, we have now considered crèche for the little man. We’ve decided to take him in Spring, so that he skips the rough winter weather and use the few months in between to boost his immune system.
So last week I missed such an important event. I was one of the 60 people selected for The Stylista talk hosted by Duo Desk ( Palesa & Cyrstal). I’d be very surprised if you haven’t heard of them by now, but if not, they are two well-known bloggers in the industry. Very famous on the Insta streets, their user names are @simplypalesa and @newhipsterstyle. Please do yourselves a favour and check out their feed, you will not be sorry. I’m sure you’re wondering how and why I missed the event……Very very long story! I was allowed to bring a plus one to the event and she, thankfully, was able to make it. Bongiwe called me straight after the event on her Uber ride home, she mostly did all the talking, because I had so many questions for her. So in a nutshell I missed such an amazing event. Besides it being informative, the guests were also allowed to ask questions about anything pertaining to the blogging industry. The event featured industry finest and the guests had an opportunity to network and mingle with the likes of copy editors, brands, stylists and fellow bloggers. The guests were given great tips on blogging and left with goodie bags that were filled with products from top brands.
As you know by now, I love items that are easy to style. This outfit is pretty much one of those . You throw it on! Then slip on the boots, add the sling bag and walk on out the house. Basically get dressed in less than 15 minutes and look edgy and fashionable. The sport luxe trend was made for me, so many pieces that can translate to any season. If you are willing to try it, but don’t know where to start, just ease into it with the jogger trousers. Also, do yourselves a favour and visit the store now re-named THE FIX, formally known as Fashion Express. They are a part of the Foschini group and have a collection of trendy and classic pieces, all at an affordable price. Think Cotton On prices. They’ve become my go to store.
